Creating a student led technical support team develops communication and leadership skills by engaging students in solving real world informational and educational problems within their districts. From developing a district vision to troubleshooting day-to-day 1:1 computing issues, students have the ability to help each other and faculty become more effective in the educational setting.Alden, Depew, and Lancaster are in different points in the implementation continuum. Each school has shared and learned a great deal from each other and is eager to influence positive changes in the regions schools. The format of this presentation is a panel discussion open to concerns from any point in the implementation process. Key topics will include: administrative support, integrating extracurricular student clubs, identifying the right students to lead, building capacity, designing the student space for Tech Support, expanding into elementary schools, involving Work Based Learning Programs, grading, and partnering with industry.
